This video discusses chimeric antigen receptor T-cell therapy, also referred to as CAR-T, a special type of immunotherapy. It explains how a small sample of a person’s white blood ‘T cells’ are removed and altered so they can fight cancer cells better and then returned to the person’s blood.

Information on how to manage side effects of treatment is also covered.

We have used a traffic light system to help you recognise red side-effects which you need to act on quickly and get medical help for, amber side-effects which need monitoring and some advice, and green side-effects which can be safely managed at home.

It’s also a good idea to download the CAR-T Therapy and you booklet to learn more about what you can expect when you go through CAR-T therapy.
