Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune disorder that is characterised by pain and swelling primarily in smaller joints, such as the hands and feet, however larger joints such as the hips and knees can also be affected. In RA, the immune system targets the lining of the joints, resulting in inflammation and joint damage.¹

Sophie shares her story on living with RA and provides advice on how to manage other aspects of her health that are related to the disease.
