Working with Industry

Pfizer Australia is a member of the Collaboration for Health in Papua New Guinea (CHPNG) which is a consortium of six pharmaceutical companies. The overriding aim of CHPNG is to make a significant contribution to the health and wellbeing of the people of PNG.

CHPNG partners with the Australasian Society for HIV Medicine (ASHM), and the National Association of People Living with HIV/AIDS (NAPWA). ASHM's main role in PNG is to help develop greater capacity in HIV diagnosis, care and treatment in the PNG faith-based health care system.

NAPWA's main role in PNG is to contribute to policy development with a people living with HIV (PLHIV) focus, develop strategic relationships with other organisations in PNG, and increase the understanding of the benefits that day care centres and similar meeting places ('positive places') can bring.
