What is period pain?

Period pain comes from menstrual pain and cramping. This may include headache, back pain, vomiting, nausea and dizziness.

Period pain is caused by the release of excess PROSTAGLANDINS - this is the substance that causes muscle contractions in the uterus walls and spasms in the lining of the uterus to help shed the lining.

How does Ponstan work?

Ponstan contains Mefenamic Acid which helps to relieve period pain in two ways:

Inhibits the formation of prostaglandins:
· Stops production of those prostaglandins that could cause more pain.

Blocks the prostatlandins receptor sites:
· Stops those prostaglandins that are causing pain.
