operates in Sydney.
Pfizer Australia Manufacturing Director, Ron Wilson, accepted the award from
Minister for Western Sydney, Diane Beamer, today at the West Ryde plant.
Mr Wilson said the success of the Rewards and Recognition Scheme was borne
out in results over a number of areas.
“The proven value of this program can be measured by improvements in
staff morale and in the operational and financial results of the plant over
the last few years. This is a consequence of employees having a better understanding
of the business and participating in the improvement of the business” Mr
Wilson said.
“During that time, more than 300 hazard assessments were identified
and resolved, resulting in a decrease in accidents and near misses.
“Our production achieved a record of over 25 million units by the end
of last year, which was significantly over the number we had budgeted for”.
“We have maintained our world class quality record and have achieved
excellent results in meeting the needs of our customers”
“Our Reward and Recognition Program is our mechanism to recognize individual
or team contribution and achievement and to reward everyone for rising to the
challenge, making a difference and playing their part.”
Ms Beamer said the award was a significant achievement for Pfizer Australia,
which is a major employer in Western Sydney.
“The Western Sydney Business Awards are an initiative of the NSW Government’s
Office of Western Sydney and highlight the contribution and leadership of businesses
and industry to the social, environmental and economic development of the region,” Ms
Beamer said.
“Pfizer Australia is significant winner on all those fronts.”
