Pfizer Australia Donates $20,000 to Rebuild Port Lincoln Community

Australia’s leading research based medicines company, Pfizer Australia,
has today made donations to the South Australian Farmers Federation and the
Salvation Army to help rebuild communities devastated by the Port Lincoln bushfires
in early January.
Pfizer Australia is donating $10,000 to the South Australian Farmers Federation
which will help the farming community rebuild after loss of stock, structure
and income source from the fires.
Pfizer Australia is also making a donation of $4,700 to the Salvation Army
to aid them in rebuilding the devastated Eyre Peninsula community. This money
was raised by Pfizer Australia staff through various fundraising events.
Pfizer Australia also donated over $5,000 of Visine, Rosken Hand cream and
Aquasun to the regions firefighters as they battled the raging bushfires in
January. Deborah MacFie, Director of Nursing at Tumby Bay Hospital said “The
donation was very useful for the volunteers exposed to smoke, dust and ash.
We really appreciated Pfizer’s efforts to secure and forward a large
quantity of products at very short notice and we are extremely grateful.”
Pfizer Australia also sponsored a local medical meeting called 'Dealing with
Trauma' which involved the Eyre Peninsula Division of General Practice, the
Eyre Peninsula Regional Mental Health Service, a local counselor and several
visiting psychiatrists.

and dedicate vital support in so many ways.”
