Pfizer Australia is in the top 30 Australian supply chains

The 'Logistics' magazine (a strategic resource for Australian Supply Chain Professionals) has undertaken an inaugural survey of the Top 3 leaders in 10 different sectors of the Supply Chain in Australia.

In a special December 06 issue of the magazine Pfizer Australia is one of three companies named in the Healthcare/Pharmaceuticals category. We join Symbion Health and AHP Holdings.

We also join some very impressive leaders in the other categories ( refer scanned document) such as Fosters, Coca-Cola Amatil , Caltex Australia, Shell Australia, Woolworths, Coles Myer, BHP Billiton, Rio Tinto, BMW, IBM, Hewlett Packard and Siemens.

In making this assessment the researchers have used a two pronged approach. Initially IBIS World Research selected 6 to 10 of the top financial performers in each sector according to revenue, net profit after tax, assets, liabilities, shareholder funds and number of employees.

Secondly, Logistics Magazine teamed with expert supply chain thinker and international guru, John Gattorna, to distil the list further based on general metrics such as supply chain costs as a percentage of net revenue, inventory turns and cash to cash cycle times.

"The connection I make between supply chain performance and overall business performance is based on the assumption that 80 per cent of invested capital is tied up in logistics operations ( including manufacturing and processing assets) and that up to 50 to 60 per cent of all type of working capital is ties up in inventory". Gattorna says. "Its hard to imagine a company having a good business if it doesn’t have a top performing supply chain, including logistics operations, procurement, customer and supplier relationships."

This is a great tribute and recognition for Pfizer Australia's Supply Chain.
